About Our Faith in Christ
We've
got a Heavenly Father who loves
to give good gifts to His
children. Wouldn't you like to know
Him, too? Think about
it: The best gift you could ever
receive is yours for the
asking — eternal life! We can't
earn it, and none of us
deserve it. Take a peek at
Romans 6:23: "For the wages of
sin is death, but the free gift of
God is eternal life through
Christ Jesus our Lord."
Cool, huh? Jesus died in our
place and offers us eternal life
instead of the death we deserve.
Let's take a look at another
verse — Romans 3:24: "Yet now
God declares us 'not guilty'
of offending him if we trust in
Jesus Christ, who in his
kindness freely takes away our
sins."
What a gift, huh? Today could be a
spiritual turning point in
your life. Wouldn't it be great to
know your sins are forgiven?
That you'll spend eternity in
heaven? If you want that kind
of gift, here's how to get
it:
- Pray this prayer
(or one similar —
it's not the words that
matter, it's the sincerity of your
heart).
Dear
Father, I'm sorry for trying to
live
my life my own way. I've been
wrong. I'm sorry for my selfish
lifestyle, and I confess
my sins to You. Will You forgive my sins?
I want to live for You, Jesus. I believe
You died for my sins so I wouldn't
have to. I also believe You
conquered death and will someday
judge the entire world. I accept
Your forgiveness
and Your gift of eternal
life.
I commit my whole life to You,
Jesus. Please help
me to grow spiritually and
become a solid and strong
Christian.
- Start living for
Jesus. Decide to
turn away from things
that don't glorify Him. You'll still
blow it from time to
time. But when you do, stop and
seek His forgiveness and
continue living for Him.
- Get involved in
a
church and youth
group. Ask your pastor
to baptize you as a special
testimony of your new life in
Christ.
- If you don't have
a
Bible that you
understand, think about
getting a student Bible — one with
lots of graphics, helps
and explanations.
- Tell us! If you
just
joined the family
of God, we'd love
to know! The Brio
staff would enjoy praying for you.
Please let us know by
writing to
brio@briomag.com.
