A Special Kind of Style

Fashion 1Fall has arrived, and with it come new classes, new friends, a fresh start and this year’s fall fashion. Before you hit the mall, remember that God made you special. Try memorizing Psalm 139:13-14. With individuality comes a lot of possibility. So, don’t become a fashion clone and buy a shirt that every girl in your school owns. Be yourself!

No, we’re not suggesting you spend all your moola on clothes, and we certainly don’t think you need to wear exactly what’s pictured in these pages. But we do believe you’ll enjoy seeing what’s in style. No matter how creative you get, always remember the Creator and give Him glory with what you wear.

Fashion 2Seemingly Sophisticated
Your favorite shopping spot is the city because you like elegance and sophistication, but with an urban appeal. Try this mulberry ruffle blazer with some corduroy capri pants. Add calf-high boots to finish the look.

Extra, Extra!
Fashion 3 The headlines announce that men’s clothes are in for this season. So, if you like the look and comfort of menswear, try this combination. Grab a tie from your father’s closet and a vest from a local thrift store. Pair them with pinstriped pants, black loafers and a classic white shirt. Top the outfit with a cashmere newsboy hat.

Fashion 4Girly Girl
Try a more feminine look by putting a lace T-shirt under this pink, hooded sweater-jacket. Team this up with a ruffle skirt and pink dress shoes.

Fashion 5Total Glam
You’re a glam girl and enjoy being on the cutting edge of fashion. Color coordination is your middle name. Try an eye-catching coat, like this long Ice Queen coat. Combine it with a loud print blouse, colorful corduroys and cool jewelry.

Sporty
Fashion 6 Whether you’re on the court or the field, your mind is in the game, and you need something that can go through a little more wear and tear. The solution? Grab a sweat suit with some flair, like this brown suit with satin trim. Wear a tank top underneath, and add a hip pair of sneakers. Go, team!

Fashion 7Blast From the Past
Have you ever dreamed of being a ‘50s Hollywood star, like Doris Day or Sandra Dee? Or maybe you like the bobby sock look. Ask your mom for an old cardigan, like this blue kitty cardigan, and wear it with a full skirt. Find some faux pearls at a secondhand store and your outfit is complete.

Simple and Sweet
Fashion 8 You like the ‘70s look because it doesn’t require much to complete an outfit. Combine a bulky sweater, like this one with fringe, with a striped skirt. Place a scarf on your head, and add some beads to create a unique look.

Behind the Scenes
Shot on location in New York, Brio style pages come straight from our fashion source Models for Christ (MFC), an organization of Christians who make their living in the fashion industry and seek to let the light of Christ shine through them. Learn more about MFC and gain helpful information from a Christian perspective on how to start modeling by visiting their Web site at www.ModelsForChrist.com. They’ll even help you set up a one-on-one phone consultation with a professional model to answer your questions.
