La Glamour — Lip Gloss and Hair Color

lipsI want to start wearing lip gloss. I like the really shiny ones. What do you suggest?
Neutrogena MoistureShine gloss will give you the ultimate moist-lip look! Not only does it glide on with great ease, but it’s packed with ingredients that both moisturize and reflect light in order to give your lips a radiant glow. It even comes in eight cool colors!

My spring formal is coming, and just for fun, I want to color my hair for the dance. I’ve heard that coloring can damage your hair. Which treatments are least harmful?
Great question. The least damaging color products would be colored mousses or comb-in temporary hair colors. Next would be wash-in, fade-out products. Moving up into the more serious categories would be semi-permanent colors. None of these chemically changes the hair shaft. Therefore, they are less damaging to your terrific tresses than a permanent hair color which, you guessed it, is the hardest on your hair! I suggest you have your trusted hairstylist apply the semi-permanent or permanent hair colors. He or she will use quality brands that may contain moisturizers to condition the hair and get it off to a good start.

What’s your opinion of the "metal" nail polishes?
I love them! The colors are icy-cool and range from chrome to copper, from platinum to titanium.

I can wear foundation for about six hours before my entire face is covered in shine. My mom says that it’s just my skin’s healthy glow, but the lady at the cosmetic counter says I need to be using powder over the foundation. Who’s right?
They both are! Your skin is glowing with its natural oils. But too much oil can look greasy. First, be sure you’re using an oil-free foundation. Then apply a light dusting of loose powder on top. Try carrying small linen tissues in your backpack or purse to do some mid-day blotting. Goodbye, shine!
