Blue skies hover over your private island paradise. A light breeze whispers through the palm trees, and your tall-dark-and-handsome boyfriend saunters over with a freshly squeezed lemonade. Nearby your private yacht docks in the bay, bringing your friends and family to visit for the summer. You stand up from your reclining lawn chair, pulling on a sarong before running to greet them. You’ve been living on your own island off the coast of Florida ever since you graduated from high school last year, and your first book made The New York Times’ bestseller list. Talk about complete bliss!
Wait. Stop. Rewind. Are you really happy? Now that you’re rich, you’re not sure if your friends are just taking advantage of you or if they really like you. And your boyfriend? He keeps asking you to talk to your publisher about the book he wants to write. Not to mention that just because you own an island doesn’t mean you don’t want anything else. You’re still waiting for your latest contract to work out so your book can be released in England; then, you can buy the Lamborghini you’ve always wanted.
OK, so maybe the story is a little farfetched, but really, what if this was your life? Do you really think those things would make you happy?
Where do you seek happiness? Take the time to think through this quiz and find out. Use it as a way to evaluate your priorities.
But, remember, it’s only a quiz. It’s meant to make you think, not tell you exactly who you are and what you should do. So, once you’re finished, take 15 minutes to pray about the results. Do they accurately reflect your life? If so, how can this quiz challenge your life?

A’s: God
10-22 points Think deeply on whether material wealth, achievements, acceptance by your peers or romantic relationships has truly made you happy in the past. Seek the Lord as your satisfaction.
23-29 points You realize that you don’t always seek your happiness in God’s
glory. Consider rethinking your priorities.
30-37 points Look at the areas of your life that take precedence over God and reflect on your motives. Pray for the strength to change.
38-50 points It’s doubtful that any of us can truly claim to seek our satisfaction
always and only in God. Rejoice that this is why God created us to need Him.
B’s: Acceptance and Affirmation of People
10-22 points It seems like most of the time you don’t seek your satisfaction in people. Make God your everything and people will also become more important to you.
23-29 points You seem to know that people won’t make you happy. Ask God to fully satisfy you. If God is your all, your relationships with people will be more fulfilling.
30-37 points It’s right for you to place priority in people over possessions. Consider, however, that only when God is everything to you can you truly love others.
38-50 points It seems like you’re looking for satisfaction in the affirmation of people rather than God. Know that only He will bring you unending happiness.
C’s: Activities/Ambitions
10-22 points You seem to understand that achievements won’t bring lasting pleasure. However, consider that having goals and working hard to reach them is a worthy desire.
23-29 points Don’t be satisfied with anything less than God. He is everything.
30-37 points Consider that even if you do achieve your dreams, it won’t always bring the lasting satisfaction that you had hoped. Let God be who He is: your Creator and the One who will fulfill you.
38-50 points If you’re searching for purpose in your ambitions and achievements, it’s doubtful that you will find it. Rely on God instead.
D’s: Material Things
10-22 points It seems like you don’t highly value worldly possessions. You know they won’t make you happy.
23-29 points It’s human nature to want things, but learn to yearn more and more for the eternal treasures of God.
30-37 points Be aware that your want of material things may be a weakness of yours. You seem to know that you’re most satisfied in God, but you may still look in the wrong places.
38-50 points Don’t look to things created by human hands to bring you happiness. When you do, you won’t be happy. Look to God for your fulfillment.
E’s: Romantic Relationships
10-22 points You seem to know that God’s plan is for you to be fulfilled by Him, not a romantic relationship. Rest in this joy.
23-29 points Remembering that God created you to glorify Him is key to being satisfied in God rather than seeking momentary pleasure in romantic relationships. Hold on to that.
30-37 points Check yourself to make sure that you’re not allowing the thought of romance to keep you from being wholly satisfied in God.
38-50 points Realize that you won’t be satisfied by any man if you can’t first be satisfied by Jesus Christ, the one who loves you the most. Seek God, and He’ll truly become the most satisfying thing in your life.
