The 14th annual Brio Girl search has begun! Our 2009 BrioGirl desires to be the very best she can be—for herself and the Lord. She has to have FAITH!
Friendly: The Brio Girl cares about relationships with family, friends and friends-to-be.
Articulate: The Brio Girl can communicate her thoughts and beliefs.
Intelligent: The Brio Girl is concerned about doing well in school.
Taking time for Jesus: The Brio Girl is actively growing in her faith through Bible study and serving others.
Heaven-bound: The Brio Girl has a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
The search will unfold in three stages: 20 semifinalists, eight finalists then announcement of the 2009 Brio Girl and three runners-up. The 2009 Brio Girl will be seen throughout the year in the pages of your favorite mag and at Briomag.com. She’ll also receive a music library of her favorite Christian artists, terrific devotional books, official Brio clothing and tons of other stuff.
Important Stuff You Need to Know
• You entered last year? No problem. Enter again.
• You must be in grades nine through 11 at time of entry.
• Your typed contest entry form is to be mailed in a 9 x 12 envelope and is not to be folded. Be sure you’ve collected everything in one envelope (entry form, essays, transcript and recommendation). Please place your photo in its own envelope, but mail it inside the 9 x 12 with everything else.
• Your entry must be postmarked on or before March 17, 2008. Entries from outside the U.S. must be postmarked by April 17, 2008.

• Only contestants may submit an entry. (Your mom can’t do this for you!)
• Once you’ve mailed your entry, you will not receive a letter from Brio thanking you for your participation. The 20 semifinalists will receive a letter mid-May.

The Specifics
Please reproduce and fill out the entry form. Then, on a separate sheet of paper, respond to the following questions in essay form, with no more than 300 words for each answer.
• When and how did you become a Christian? How has God worked in your life in the past year?
• Pretend you are about to address a group of teen girls. What would you say and why?
• Why should you be named the 2009 Brio Girl?
Also include the following with your entry form:*
1. A recent and print-ready head-and-shoulders photograph.
2. A school transcript that indicates your current-year GPA.**
3. A written recommendation from your pastor, youth leader or Sunday school teacher.
* Entries and photographs cannot be returned.
** If you are home schooled, estimate your GPA based on your record book and have a parent sign next to the grade.
